We have very exciting news!

Blast FC Soccer Academy Sends 3 Teams to Regionals and Nationals

Our 2020/2021 season was tremendous and was extended thanks to the gargantuan efforts of our players, their families, and our Coaching Staff. Following the US Club Soccer state championships our 3 state champions (2004s, 2006s, and 2007s) competed in the US Club Midwest Regionals, and US Club National Cup Finals. Our 2006 squad also qualified for NPL-MDL Regionals due to being regular season MDL League Champions.
Thank you to our players and their families for such an amazing season.

2007s Reach Regional Final

Following their terrific State Cup run, our 2007s kept working hard to prepare for their first trip to a Regional Championship. They were grouped together with Edina SC (MN), Roadrunners SC (IL) FC Pride (IN), and managed to win their group by beating all 3 of their opponents while keeping 3 clean sheets. In the Regional Semifinal Allegheny Force FC was the 2007s opponent and after a difficult 1st half our young squad came out determined to reach the Final.

They won 2-0 setting up the Regional Final against bitter Cincinnati rivals, CUP Black. Unfortunately, after a scoreless 1st half our 2007 squad ran out of steam and lost 0-3 to the eventual National Champion. The effort by the 2007s this season has been amazing, and an important step in the right direction of their short and long term development.

We are massively excited about their future, and are incredibly proud of them for their accomplishments so far!

2006s Reach NPL Regionals as MDL League Champions

Following a terrific regular season that saw the 2006 squad crowned as NPL-MDL League Champions, they arrived in South Carolina with high hopes of winning their 1st Regional and reaching the NPL National Finals. Our 2006s were put in a tough group that included Charlotte Metro FC (NC), AFC Lightning (GA), and Dominion FC (PA). The winner of the group would advance to the Regional Semifinal and our 2006 squad got off to a flying start by beating local team Charlotte Metro FC 2-0, and kept the momentum going into their 2nd game by establishing a lead early in the game; however, a difficult 2nd half meant the match would end up in a 2-2 draw, leaving our 2006s needing a draw out of their last game to advance.

Unfortunately, even in control of the game and creating chance after chance the 2006s lost 0-1. They will be back.
We are so incredibly proud of this team already, and cannot wait to see how they continue to develop in the future. It is going to be bright!

2004s and 2006s Represent Blast FC Soccer Academy in US Club National Cup Finals

Following their terrific efforts in US Club Ohio State Cup, both of our squads headed west to Commerce City, Colorado to take part in the US Club National Finals. Both teams were pitted in difficult groups with some of the top teams in the country in their respective age groups, but it was a challenge that they were excited to meet head on.

The 2004 squad faced off against Fever United (TX), Space Coast United (FL), and Bayside FC (RI) in a tough group where the winner would move on to the National semifinals. The 2004s got off to a flying start against Bayside and had a 2 goal lead in the 2nd half, but were unable to maintain their momentum and the game finished in a 2-2 draw. The following game our squad was unable to respond to the previous letdown and lost 0-3 to a tough Fever United side.

With a sliver of hope to advance in their group, the 2004s knew they needed to win the game in order to have any chance at the semifinal, and in an extremely competitive 3rd match against Space Coast they were able to finish their tournament on a high by winning 4-3. In the end, it simply wasn’t enough to advance out of their group as they finished 2nd to Fever United and their chance at a National title will have to wait one more year.

The 2006 squad was placed in a group that included Ironbound SC (NJ), Fever United (TX), and NASA Tophat SCCL (GA) for a spot in the National semifinal. The 2006s started the weekend with a mission in mind and they were playing determined to advance to the National semifinal. Fever United was terrific show of creativity and attacking prowess that gave us a 4-0 win. The following match against Nasa Tophat was even more competitive, but the 2006s strangled the match at 1-0 and left them in control of their own destiny heading into the 3rd game of a very demanding weekend.

Ironbound SC was another strong display by the squad in the attacking and defensive sides of the game with a 3-0 result that qualified our 2006s into their first National semifinal! The following day was the most difficult one of the weekend due to the sheer physical demand of the weekend, but the 2006s were committed in their goal to advance; however, it wasn’t to be this year and the final result was 1-4 to Eclipse Select SC (IL).

We were heartbroken with the team in the moment, but have so much to look forward to in the future. 2004s and 2006s, we are ridiculously proud of you for this and all your other achievements, and are so excited for your future!

The entire Club is elated by your exemplary performance and representation of yourselves, each squad, and Blast FC Soccer Academy!

Congrats on a terrific year!
