A Quick Look Ahead From the Mobile Desk of Coach Mauricio

Hello Everyone!

We are now within a week of starting spring season competition with all of our teams (U8s – U18s, boys and girls), and could not be more excited to see our teams finally back in action.

The squads have been absolutely tremendous in training, and we have been trying to make sure that every team is ready to start their season in the best way possible.

The first week of March will see our U13 – U18 squads will start their MDL league play against Cleveland Force, and our U8 – U12 squads will have their first seasonal tournaments two weeks later.

Join us in wishing all of our squads the best of luck as they start the spring season!

Redemption and Mental Toughness: Sadio Mane and 2nd Chance PK

We wanted to share this clip of the game winning penalty kick that crowned Senegal, Africa Cup of Nations Champions, for the first time in their country’s history.

The taker is Sadio Mane, and he is the Captain of the team as well.

The context of this moment is very important, as Mane has missed a penalty kick in regulation. He then has a second opportunity to step up for his country, and takes the chance with aplomb. He sets the ball down exactly as he wants it, calmly. Looks up at the sky, and then refocuses his vision over the ball. He exudes confidence with his icy stare, and puts an absolute laser beam past “Gabaski.” The power and accuracy on the shot is entirely too much for the GK that previously saved the PK in regulation.

A terrific example of incredible mental strength.

Bravo Mane, bravo to the Lions of Teranga, and congratulations to Senegal on their first AFCON title.
